Just practicing some commercial product photography. Photographed two Malibu bottles. For this shot I wanted to mimic the Malibu logo with the product itself. Was able to achieve a sunset background by using a red backdrop with one light with a yellow gel inside a soft box. There was a lot of flagging and repositioning to prevent the lights that are hitting the bottles from spilling into the background. Also used a white foam board to bounce and fill light on the bottle. Just practicing some commercial product photography. Photographed Nautica Blue by Nautica which is an aromatic aquatic fragrance for men. For this shoot I found an adobe stock image of water glares and did some edits to it in photoshop. I went out and bought vanilla cupcake scented kinetic sand at Micheals (which just made me hungry when shooting). I connected my small portable projector to my Mac and displayed the photoshopped adobe stock image on to the product. Product was photographed on different colored paper with two lights with a home made soft box modifier on each and one white foam core board to reflect light. Used colored paper similar to the nail paint color to keep it consistent and to go with the theme of the nail paint (color therapy). The colored papers were arranged so that the lighter paper is in the center to attract the viewers eyes, while the papers on the sides help lead the viewer back to the product if their eyes divert. I stayed at Mather Campgrounds in the park. I arrived early in the morning at the site and got everything setup then I starting hiking the rim of the Canyon. I have seen pictures of the Grand Canyon but when you are there pictures don't do it justice it is something that you have to be there to truly experience its beauty. Saturn and Jupiter (the Christmas Star or the Star of Bethlehem) are framed within tree branches. Caught a meteor (the other three are planes, I know two are for sure) from Ursids meteor shower. Got a little bit of the Milky Way in the photo as well. Also framed myself in the photo that I was taking as well.
